How to Connect TradingView to E8 Markets MT5 or cTrader (2026)

Benjamin F., Co-founder5 min read

PineHook can connect TradingView alerts to an E8 Markets MT5 or cTrader account when E8 issues you either platform. E8 offers both for eligible Forex and Crypto accounts and permits third-party EAs, provided the strategy is your own. US clients cannot purchase E8 MT5 or cTrader accounts, so this route does not apply to them.

An alert service that supplies someone else's trades is different from relaying your own strategy. E8 forbids alert services and team trading. Its E8 One, Pro, and Signature products also use different drawdown and payout rules, so check the product and stage before setting a PineHook guard.

E8 rules checked against its official help center on September 22, 2026. Confirm the terms and values on your issued account before trading.

Connect E8 Markets to PineHook#

Create a PineHook account, then follow the route E8 assigned to your account.

Connect E8 MT5#

  1. Find the login, password, and server in E8X, following E8's MT5 login guide. Sign in to the issued account in MT5.
  2. Create an MT5 license, attach the PineHook EA to a chart, and enable algorithmic trading. Put the license key in the EA and keep MT5 running; PineHook does not need your E8 password.
  3. Add PineHook's webhook URL, the license key, and a command to a TradingView alert.

Connect E8 cTrader#

  1. Use E8's cTrader login guide to find the issued account under your cTrader ID.
  2. Create a cTrader license, authorize PineHook, and select that E8 account. This route needs no local EA or running cTrader terminal.
  3. Put PineHook's webhook URL, the license key, and a command in a TradingView alert.

TradingView's own brokerage connection does not automate Pine strategies. Here the alert supplies the instruction, and PineHook records the account's response in Signal Logs.

Check the symbol, size, and first order#

Copy the exact symbol from MT5 Market Watch or cTrader's instrument list. Use a symbol map if TradingView names it differently, and lot size conversion if the strategy sends units or contracts rather than lots. Check minimum volume, step, contract size, and trading hours on the issued account before choosing a test size.

E8 says its Forex and Crypto Challenge and Performance accounts use hedging mode. On such an account, magic= groups one strategy's trades while ticket= identifies a single position. The strategy can hold several positions on the same symbol, each with its own stop, take profit, or multi-level TP and SL schedule. Reuse the ticket to modify or close that position; netting accounts reject ticket=.

YOUR_LICENSE_KEY,buy,EURUSD,size_lots=0.01,magic=1001,ticket=eur-long-001,sl_pips=50,tp_pips=100

Send a small order that fits your risk plan, replacing the example volume if the instrument requires another size. Compare its filled symbol, size, stop, and target with Signal Logs. E8 bans opposing positions across accounts; hedging mode inside one account does not change that rule.

E8 also caps most orders at 50 lots, gold at 20, open orders at 100, and daily positions and server requests at 2,000 each. Stop edits count toward the request cap, so a fast strategy can reach it without opening many positions. Its trading policy limits the share of positions held under a minute to 50%.

Set the E8 risk limits#

E8 lets buyers customize some account parameters. Use the figures in E8X, then match the calculation as well as the percentage in Trading settings.

Forex productE8 maximum-loss rulePineHook approach
E8 OneDynamic floor rises with closed profits and locks at initial balanceTrailing (closed) with Lock Floor At Profit, plus a daily guard
E8 ProStatic floor; separate daily loss limitStatic with the issued balance as baseline, plus a daily guard
E8 Signature ForexEnd-of-day trailing floor that locks at initial balance; Performance also has a daily pauseTrailing (closed) with Lock Floor At Profit moves after a profitable close, before E8's day-end update

E8's daily drawdown guide says the cash loss amount comes from initial balance, while the floor starts each day from the balance at 00:00 server time. Set PineHook's daily guard in account currency and align its UTC reset hour with the E8 server clock. PineHook starts from the higher of balance and equity at reset, so it can stop an open winner sooner than E8; the settings are a conservative approximation, not a replica. Leave room inside E8's breach level for spread and closing slippage.

A drawdown guard cannot check payout conditions. E8 One Performance has a 40% Best Day rule, while Signature Performance has a 35% Best Day rule and a payout buffer. E8 Pro has a daily profit cap. Follow those figures in E8X separately.

Apply news and holding rules by product#

E8 One Challenge allows news trading, but its Performance stage prohibits opening, closing, or modifying affected positions from five minutes before until five minutes after high-impact news. Pending entries and protective exits can also execute in that window. E8 Pro and Signature permit news trading under their current rules.

On E8 One Performance, set the News Filter for the restricted window and check it in the News Calendar. The filter holds new PineHook entries; it cannot prevent a resting order, stop, target, or manual modification from executing. Review those orders before the release.

E8 One and Pro permit weekend holding, while Signature closes positions at its server-time cutoff and does not permit weekend holding. Use active hours for new entries near a cutoff; if the account must be flat, configure Close Positions Outside Hours after checking E8's current server time.

Copy the strategy to permitted accounts#

The Trade Copier can send your strategy to other E8 accounts or accounts at different brokers, with a size multiplier and risk settings per license. E8 permits copying across your own Challenge, Performance, and personal accounts, but bans team trading and alert services. If the personal account is at another provider, that provider must allow the arrangement too. Keep the strategy yours and check every destination's rules. E8 also prohibits cross-account hedging.
