Why we built our own TradingView to MT5 relay
We experienced missed alerts, positions left open overnight, and updates that disrupted our trades. Those problems led us to build PineHook, drawing on our experience in software engineering, trading, and data security.

What went wrong with our previous setup
PineHook is built by software engineers who run their own automated strategies on live accounts. Our background is in software engineering, data security and privacy-preserving systems.
We know what it feels like to wake up and find positions that should have closed overnight still open, or worse, positions that should have reversed but didn't. We have experienced both. Missed alerts left our accounts holding positions that no longer followed the strategy, exposing them to price moves after the planned exit or reversal.
what went wrong before
The problem with existing services
We tried other TradingView to MetaTrader 5 (MT5) webhook services. Some had frequent downtime. Others were slow. A few had decent reliability but were missing critical features that left gaping holes in the product. And when things did break, there was little transparency or accountability from the company in charge.
Some seemed to operate on a "move fast, break things" philosophy, pushing updates that would cause alerts to stop being picked up or arrive late, leading to out-of-strategy positioning. Features would stop working or behave incorrectly after an update. It felt like changes were going live without proper testing or documentation.
Support was its own problem. Either non-existent, or it felt like a contracted service that didn't know the product well enough to actually help. If you've ever automated strategies with real money on the line, you know that this is just unacceptable.
In other words, none of these services felt like they were built by people who understood the demands of live trading or had the engineering background to handle sensitive financial data and trade execution. So we decided to build the infrastructure we wished existed.
how we operate
How we test releases and report service performance
We test every feature before release using automated checks and manual testing. Those checks cover the reliability, timing, precision, and security of the system, so new functionality is reviewed alongside its effect on existing behavior. Our automated tests also cover rare edge cases that are nearly impossible to reproduce manually, but can still occur in live trading and derail a strategy at the worst possible moment.
Our uptime and incident history are public, our latency claims are measured and documented per alert and published daily on our status page, and every EA release is hash-verified against GitHub, so you can check what you install. If we ever fall short, it will be on the status page for everyone to see, which is exactly the accountability we wished our old relay services had.

Reliability
Redundant infrastructure with automatic failover keeps a single failure from taking the system offline. We don't ship features that compromise stability, and we publish our uptime on our status page.

Lightning-fast alert routing, with separate MT5 and cTrader medians published daily. Speed is engineered into the system without cutting corners on security.
How latency is measuredPrecision
We test the system end to end before every release to check that alert handling and trade execution follow the configured instructions. Each published EA bundle has a checksum you can verify before installing it.
